Military Militia- The Rowers or Galeotes.

 


"The oarsmen, who are especially called galeotes are almost sailors, and by the same respects should be chosen practical in the sailing of the ship, because they also take the rope, and access the equipment, and must know them, and understand the whistle". 
Coming from the various professions linked to the sea, the rowers are also an important instrument of war of D. Fernando in the various campaigns against Castile where he uses the galleys for deep incursions into enemy territory.
